Castle Park
This retail pavilion contains a café, a shop mobility facility, cycle storage and a retail unit. It is sited on a prominent corner of Castle Park in Bristol, facing the city centre’s major shopping area. As well providing a prominent marker for the site, the building was also required to create a gateway to the park whilst retaining access to a culveted river that runs below the building. The connection to the park is made via a grand stair and a bridge which also link to a south facing roof top terrace for the two storey café. The undulating façade of the building maximises visibility and frontage and also generates the turret like features which mark the entrance to the park.
